The New Zealand Certificate in Food and Beverage Service (with strands in Café Service & Function Services) will provide you with skills to become a valued member of a café or functions team and real-world experience in our restaurant and events.

Prepare and serve the types of food and beverages offered at cafés and functions with essential hospitality course. Develop the professional communication skills to serve customers and deal with any customer service issues. As part of this food handling certificate, you will learn to work safely and to regulations in a range of hospitality environments. Manukau Institute of Technology is the originator of this programme.
On successful completion of the course students will receive:
- NZ Certificate in Food & Beverage Service Level 3

Full attendance is encouraged to maximise learning opportunities and to optimise success for students. To meet external examination requirements, 80% attendance of practical classes is compulsory.
This programme is an excellent starting point for those wanting to work in restaurants or bars. It is recommended that applicants have met the literacy and numeracy requirements for NCEA Level 1 or equivalent.
