We will prepare you with a wide range of industry relevant skills and attributes with the aim of facilitating a smooth pathway into the Tourism sector through either, further study or direct employment. You will receive an understanding of tourism from a local, national and global perspective with strong ties to industry so as to ensure that what is being learnt is entirely relevant. Gain an understanding in local tourism and how tourism can directly impact our community. Form an understanding of the vast multitude of tourist attractions throughout our beautiful country and how these attractions are vital to the New Zealand’s economy. Obtain positive people skills and a knowledge base that will allow you to provide exceptional customer service and industry knowledge in a variety of settings. Explore the effects the numerous cultures of our country have on the tourism industry and have a whole lot of fun doing so!

Full attendance is encouraged to maximise learning opportunities and to optimise student success. To meet external examination requirements, 80% attendance of practical classes is compulsory.
